In the middle of building a gunite puddle -- lots of delays because of all the rain. They finally shot the gunite and I noticed that there was no deep h2o demote. The contract called for a 5' demote in the deep finish.

The PB said that this is not a big deal -- information technology tin be added later.

Just desire to make certain that there are no bug with this.

Thoughts?

Mine was added during the build and had a rebar frame only my architect told me they could class them without the rebar. I would recollect adding after the initial shell is washed wouldn't be a big deal either as long as the builder is saying it isn't.

Well, I would expect the builder to say "no problem"........... I'd enquire him how is he going to tie it into the shell and prevent cracking between the old gunite and the new (perchance non now, but in 15 years time?)

I know people have washed them on remodels, no idea about the potential to crack at the cold joint downwardly the road simply my guess is if they can practice it on an old pool, it is probably much easier on a new one, and I suspect that builders and re-modelers would not do it if it were likely to lead to a lawsuit. I think you are probably fine. THIS post might make you feel better

Despite the popular myth shotcrete on shotcrete is not a cold joint.
